Rabbi Yosef is a devout believer in the connection between Jewish traditions and values to the deep "Tikun" that Israel needs.Coming from Greek origins, he believes that celebrating our Jewish diversity is the key for building a healthier peaceful Israel.
He is committed to social justice, activism and peaceOur Rabbi was a rabbinical intern in our community for two years, and started serving as a Rabbi in January 2021.

Rabbi Yosef Baruch Fromer was born in Haifa to a family of Greek origins, and was educated at the Hebrew Real School in the city.
He spent his mandatory service in the IDF as a tank commander and a platoon sergeant and continued to serve in the reserve forces for about 20 years, including in Operation Defensive Shield (2002) and the Second Lebanon War (2006). During this service he was awarded the title of "Company Outstanding NCO" (2009) and "Outstanding performance" from the Chief Armored Officer (2013).
He is a graduate of the University of Haifa's Honors and Computer Science Program, and holds master's degrees in Philosophy (Haifa), Business Administration (Technion) and Jewish Studies (Schechter).
He previously worked as a programmer, development team leader and founding CEO of a small software cooperative. As a volunteer, Rabbi Yosef was one of the leaders of the 2011 tent protests in northern Israel, known for its unique Arab & Jewish Collaborations. He assisted in building a "Shochatim" workers union, and helped restart the public effort to clean the Haifa Bay area from polluting industries in 2013.
